Winter Wonderland (Charity)

The Children from Busy Bees Day Nursery in King Harry Lane, St Albans will be celebrateing Christmas in style this year with their Christmas Wonderland grotto during the w/c 30/11 and a visit from real reindeers on Wednesday 2nd December 2009.

The event will be opened by a VIP guest with visits from the Mayor, Nursery Directors, storyteller and the postman.

The nursery was transformed into a Giant grotto and will be opened up to the members of the public for the week to visit Santa Claus in his log cabin. Each child will receive a free gift, facepainting and write a letter to Santa for a small donation of £2.00 in aid of the children’s charity Cystic Fibrosis.

SANTAS CABIN (Family)

Come and join us for a true Winter Wonderland experience at our Santa’s Cabin.
Your Santa experience starts with a play in the Snow Garden – run under our ten foot Snowman, slide down a real snow slide or pull your little one along on a sledge.
When it comes to meeting Santa, each child will receive a special present from the man himself along with an opportunity to purchase a range of personalised photograph gifts of your loved one with Santa.

Each £8 ticket includes a 15 minute experience to include a play in the Snow Garden and a personal visit with Santa plus gift for each child. Disabled Sports (Sport)

DADDS provides sporting opportunites for those people who are unable to take advantage of the normal activities that most of us are able to take for granted.
The Leisure Centre, Court Drive, is the venue on Tuesday afternoons from 1-3pm when we offer disabled people the opportunity of sport, exercise and socialising with others of similar circumstances.
The sessions are supervised by a loyal band of volunteers that allow the charity to provide an ongoing service to their clients every week of the year (for the past 14 years), with few exceptions.
We are constantly seeking volunteers to help us provide the service which increases in attendance numbers on a regular basis; we regularly have about 100 people attending each week. To ensure this service, which is supported by various groups in the local community to whom we are most grateful, fresh blood is necessary.

After a successful series of classes last year, professional actor and teacher Danny Swanson is once again running a series of seven 2-hour acting classes for any adult wishing to develop their acting skills. Whether you are a Barn Member or not, anyone is welcome to attend; you may be an experienced actor looking to hone your skills, or you might be a beginner who has never set foot on stage, this course is aimed at everyone.
