Disabled Sports (Sport)

Location:Dunstable Leisure Centre

Time:13:00:00 to 15:00:00

DADDS provides sporting opportunites for those people who are unable to take advantage of the normal activities that most of us are able to take for granted.
The Leisure Centre, Court Drive, is the venue on Tuesday afternoons from 1-3pm when we offer disabled people the opportunity of sport, exercise and socialising with others of similar circumstances.
The sessions are supervised by a loyal band of volunteers that allow the charity to provide an ongoing service to their clients every week of the year (for the past 14 years), with few exceptions.
We are constantly seeking volunteers to help us provide the service which increases in attendance numbers on a regular basis; we regularly have about 100 people attending each week. To ensure this service, which is supported by various groups in the local community to whom we are most grateful, fresh blood is necessary.

THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES (Theatre)

Location:The Old Town Hall, Hemel Hempstead

Time:20:00:00

(suited for mature audiences)

Following it's sell out success at The Old Town Hall earlier this year, we are pleased to welcome back an all new cast for another evening of truth, poignancy and laugh out loud humour.

Based on author Eve Ensler's 'Vagina Interviews' conducted with women from all around the world, this hilariously witty and moving collection of tales gives voice to a chorus of lusty, outrageous, poignant, brave and thoroughly human stories.

A staggering number of the world's most famous and talented women, from Kate Winslet and Whoppi Goldberg to Sophie Dahl and Jerry Hall have chosen to take part in the show in New York, Los Angeles and London.

Bring your mum, your best friend, your sister of even your granny. This is the ultimate girl's night out - as sharp as Sex and the City and as unmissable as Friends.

Tickets £17 / £15 conc / £11.25 dc

Written by Brian Friel, and directed by Laura Powell Eddy. Plays at the Barn Theatre from 20th – 28th November, 8:00 pm.

A play about language. And love, longing, desire, power, freedom, hate, belonging, despair, loss, hope and knowledge. The setting is a hedge school in County Donegal. It is 1833, just before the potato famine. English soldiers are making the first Ordinance Survey map of the area and changing the Gaelic placenames to English. One of the English soldiers falls in love with the romance and beauty of the landscape and the language of Ireland. He falls in love with an Irishwoman. He disappears…

Tickets are £9.75 and are available from the Campus West box office on 01707 357117, online at www.barntheatre.co.uk, or from the Barn box office (01707 324300) on performance nights.
