Disabled Sports (Sport)

DADDS provides sporting opportunites for those people who are unable to take advantage of the normal activities that most of us are able to take for granted.
The Leisure Centre, Court Drive, is the venue on Tuesday afternoons from 1-3pm when we offer disabled people the opportunity of sport, exercise and socialising with others of similar circumstances.
The sessions are supervised by a loyal band of volunteers that allow the charity to provide an ongoing service to their clients every week of the year (for the past 14 years), with few exceptions.
We are constantly seeking volunteers to help us provide the service which increases in attendance numbers on a regular basis; we regularly have about 100 people attending each week. To ensure this service, which is supported by various groups in the local community to whom we are most grateful, fresh blood is necessary.

After a successful series of classes last year, professional actor and teacher Danny Swanson is once again running a series of seven 2-hour acting classes for any adult wishing to develop their acting skills. Whether you are a Barn Member or not, anyone is welcome to attend; you may be an experienced actor looking to hone your skills, or you might be a beginner who has never set foot on stage, this course is aimed at everyone.

Turn up, put your name down to play (or book ahead, we do tend to get booked up pretty quickly) then relax, have a drink or five and enjoy the show. All styles welcome.If you want to play, it is best to contact us in advance to book a slot if you would like. Please come along even if you don't play, the audience is as important as the players.
